The story showcases the relationship between Akkasaheb, the head of the Sardeshmukh family and her daughter-in-laws who love and care for each other in the Sardeshmukh household. Post delivering a baby boy, Kalyani, the Akkasaheb's first daughter-in-law dies. Soham, Akkasaheb's son remarries in a series of events and makes Swapnali a part of the Sardeshmukh household. Swapnali is an educated, independent and smart woman. She starts taking care of Soham's child like her own child and slowly adapts to the ways of the Sardeshmukh family. The story marries conventional society values to modern perspective. The conflict starts when Swapnali unfolds Rupali and Kanchmala's nasty plans to ruin the family.
